Emergency Dental Care

Having a Dental Emergency?

If you’ve been involved in an accident that knocked out one of your teeth or if you have a toothache that is keeping you from living your life, you may need the care of a local emergency dentist.

Dental problems don’t always happen when it’s convenient for you. At Lighthouse Dental Care, we understand that emergencies can occur at any time, be it over the weekend or at the office. That’s why we tell our patients to give us a call immediately following a dental emergency. We offer same day emergency dentistry services to address dental issues that simply can’t wait.

Tips for Common Dental Emergencies from the ADA:

  • Knocked-out Tooth: keep it moist at all times. If you can, try placing the tooth back in the socket without touching the root. If that’s not possible, place it in between your cheek and gums, in milk, or use a tooth preservation product that has the ADA Seal of Acceptance. Then, get to your dentist’s office right away.
  • Cracked Tooth: immediately rinse the mouth with warm water to clean the area. Put cold compresses on the face to keep any swelling down.
  • Bite Your Tongue or Lip, clean the area gently with water and apply a cold compress.
  • Toothaches: rinse the mouth with warm water to clean it out. Gently use dental floss to remove any food caught between the teeth. Do not put aspirin on the aching tooth or gum tissues.
